A photomicrograph is a photograph taken using a microscope to magnify the subject matter. In this Series, the images photographed come from very thin slices of rock through which polarized light has been transmitted. By rotating the microscope stage, the compositions, colors and textures will change. The magnification of the images can vary depending on the rock being photographed. Each image has been photographed after scanning hundreds of thin slices of different kinds of rock from various parts of the world to find compositions, colors. and textures which were artistically evocative and worked aesthetically.
